- Watchlist & Portfolio Holdings: The stock tickers, quantity of shares, purchase prices, uninvested cash balances, and currency choices you input are stored directly on your computer inside your browser's
HTML5 LocalStorage. - Imported Transactions: Transaction histories imported via CSV/Excel are held in client-side memory and local storage. They are never uploaded or synced to external databases managed by us.
- API Keys: If you optionally provide an API key (e.g., Google Gemini for AI trade critiques), it is stored exclusively in your local browser and sent directly to Google's API endpoint over HTTPS.
You can erase all your stored portfolio data at any time by clearing your browser cache and cookies or clicking "Reset" in the Settings modal.
4. Web Analytics & Server Log Files
Like most websites, Stock Monitor collects standard technical and aggregate traffic metrics:
